  • Wet sandblasting is efficient and dust-free. Remove coatings from steel and concrete surfaces. Can be used on rust, paint, stains, and graffiti.
  • Sand injector - carbide tip features:
  • Includes sand probe and clear hose
  • 5500-PSI rated
  • Sand injectors we rent are basically a large nozzle that attaches to the pressure washers we rent in the same manner that the four tips do. This tool is a tube with a mixing chamber and a sandblasting tip at the end. The mixing chamber has a hose attached to it with a sand probe attached to the end of the hose. This sand probe is designed to be placed in a bucket or receptacle full of sandblasting media. The pressure washer sends water out the end of the injector and causes suction in the hose and draws the sand up through the sand probe and hose and into the mixing chamber. From there it is shot out the end of the tip with the water creating a Sand Blaster .
  • The best part of wet sandblasting is that there is no dust. You still need eye protection and possibly a dust mask to keep from eating any sand that bounces around. But the machine can be used in areas that have tight dust control policies with minimal worry of drawing unwanted attention. The sand injector has a lot of success with graffiti and paint removal. It can be used on metal objects but customers must be warned that because of the water the item involved may flash rust and they should take steps to prevent this. (Dry it off and possibly oil the surface until you are ready to repaint).
  • To use the sand injector successfully customers need instruction and the people that service it need to be trained.
  • The most common cause of failure for the sand injector is getting water in the suction hose or the sand supply. Wet sand will clog and obstruct the hose. The bucket or receptacle should be placed out of the way if possible and covered to prevent water from getting into the sand. When you fire up the machine the wand must be pointed down. If you release the trigger on the wand and the tip is pointed up it is possible for the water to find its way into the suction hose. Make sure that the person renting this item is aware of that. There is a shutoff valve on the mixing valve that can be closed to prevent this from happening when the tool is not in use at the job.
  • When the injector is being serviced the hose and sand probe should be blown out and all sand should be removed. The factory may install clamps on the hose that make this difficult. It is recommended they are removed and replaced with hose clamps to make access easier. The sand nozzle at the tip seldom wears out but should be checked for abnormal wear.
  • The best way to train guys to service and instruct customers on the sand injector is to buy some sand and let them use it. This tool needs to be experienced. Buy a couple bags of silica sand and let everybody use it. Then have them service it. It makes a big difference.
